Frequently Asked Questions about Chemical Peels
You may feel some slight burning and itching while the peel works its magic, but most patients do not report major discomfort.
Light peels may take up to seven days for your skin to completely heal. During this time, your face may peel and appear sunburnt.
Medium peels may induce some swelling, which can be soothed with ice packs. Recovery time from a medium peel is usually 7-14 days.
In all cases, your skin will be more sun-sensitive post treatment and it is extremely important to wear sunscreen and sun protection. It is also recommended that you use emollients and fragrance-free products, as well as avoiding retinol and acids while your skin heals.
This really depends on what condition your skin is in prior to the chemical peel and what your individual skin goals are. Generally, once your skin has healed, you can expect to see smoother, brighter, younger, more radiant, even-toned skin.
You may begin to see results from light peels immediately post treatment. The full effects will be visible between 7-10 days.
Full results from medium and deep peels will develop within 1-2 weeks.
BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT
Arrive bare-faced: without makeup or skincare products
Avoid sun exposure & tanning beds
Avoid Active ingredients (Retinoids, Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid)
Avoid scrubs, exfoliation, peel pads for at least 1 week before appointment
Avoid waxing for 7 days before treatment
Use sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher every day
AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS
No makeup for 24 hours. Afterwards, ensure that your brushes are clean before using
Avoid direct sun exposure and use SPF always (broad spectrum at least 30 SPF)
Use a Gentle Cleanser and Moisturizer
No scrubs or exfoliation for 7-10 days after treatment. No retinoids, Glycolic acid for 10 days after treatment
